The 7-outlet, Greenlite Tier 1 Advanced Power Strip saves energy by turning off electronics when the device connected to the control outlet is off. When the control device (such as a TV or computer) is on, the switched outlets are automatically on. When the control device is off, the switched outlets automatically turn off.

Control outlet
The control outlet controls the 4 switched outlets and is ideal for devices such as a TV or computer.
Always on outlets
These 2 outlets are always on, regardless of the control outlet, and are suited for devices that should always stay on, such as a cable box, router or modem.
Switched outlets
The 4 switched outlets are for devices like DVD players, printers and game consoles that are linked to the device plugged into the control outlet and are controlled by that outlet.
